Freddy’s Cathouse – Feral Cat Rescue Charity in the Canary Islands

I recently met up to do an interview with Freddy of Freddy’s Cathouse in Playa Blanca, a town in the west of our island of Lanzarote. Him and his charity are totally dedicated to helping improve the lives of approx. 130-140 feral cats, with 26 feeding stations under his care.

Last Night in Mad Cat Lady Land

We were dining at La Dolce Vita in the Old Town of Puerto del Carmen last night, and there were so many beautiful kitties skitting back and forth under the tables, manipulating unsuspecting hoomins to give them under table scraps, including this gorgeous longhaired meezer.

After we left, this was the scene that we were presented with… 🙂

The meezer followed me! 🙂

My 2017 Cat Calendar Is Out! Street Cats of Jerusalem

On my trip to Jerusalem in April of this year, I had the pleasure of meeting the friendly feral street cats that live all over this ancient city. My new 2017 calendar has 13 beautiful images of these cats, and makes a great Christmas present for both cat lovers and animal photography aficionados.

€0.50 of each calendar will be donated to The Kennel Klub Lanzarote, one of our local animal charities.

Meet the Campus Cat of Hildesheim University

I recently came across this interesting kitty whilst searching for some info on the town Hildesheim in northern Germany, where I was born.

Tabby & white girl Fräulein Sinner has lived on the campus of Hildesheim University for 13 years now and she has become a fixture and a familiar sight for students and staff at this university. Here’s my Catster article about this intelligent little feline….

Meet Bailey, My Neighbours’ New Kitten

I don’t know how anyone could abandon a sweet little morsel like this Siamese/Tabby mix! She was found lost and alone in a local shopping center and my downstairs neighbours didn’t hesitate taking her with them. Bailey now shares the house with feline mum and daughter duo Missy and Sassy, who at first gave her a bit of a hard time, but she stood up for herself and they are fast becoming friends now.

Here is Bailey playing the kitty air guitar – Rock n’ Roll!!!! 😀

Cats of Jerusalem – My Catty Vacation in Israel

On my trip to Jerusalem last week, I wasn’t prepared how many wonderful kitties I would meet – I almost didn’t miss my own 3 rascals at all (but don’t tell them!).

On the 3rd day of my holiday, I also got the chance to do a bit of volunteering at the JSPCA (Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and experience first hand how they work to help the animals over there – and they are really doing an amazing job!

Below are just a few piccies as a taster, but CLICK HERE if you want to see all the cat pictures on Flickr which I took of the street cats and JSPCA cats last week.
