Aaaaw poor Blacky, bless her! And Squeaky with the chewed-out ear! Are they rescue cats?
(Actually, speaking of rescue cats with chewed off ears, there was one in the local edition of Metro a month ago – she’d lost both her ears to frost bite and they needed a new home for her…of course lots and lots of people got in touch with the rescue centre to help – bless!)

@Anna/minigoth, the “chewed off” ear is actually what the vet does (takes a little clip out of the ear) when they have neutered a wild/feral cat which then gets put back in its previous surroundings, so they can be identified as having been done. Squeaky was a feral once, before she moved in with my friend, so when she was neutered, the vet clipped her ear. This is of course never done to pet cats, and Anneke is sad that Squeaky, who is otherwise a purrfect beauty, has a bit of her ear missing…

Oh, that makes sense! I’ll now have to find out how they mark the cats in my local TNR projects.

AAAWWWHHH!!! That really brought a smile to my face! I can’t wait to see them again Saturday. Thanks sooo much for looking after them. After we spoke on Tuesday I had a bad evening cos I felt so guilty for leaving them alone. I wanted to go home there and then. Not long now!
